The Faculty of Languages and Communication ( FBK ) at the Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin ( UniSZA) was established in January 2007 when the former Sultan Zainal Abidin Religious College ( KUSZA ) was upgraded into a full university status.

Prior to the establishment of the faculty, it was known as The Centre of Languages at The Sultan Zainal Abidin Religious College (KUSZA), which was officially commenced in 1994. Originally, the centre was an English Language Unit under The School of General Studies, Sultan Zainal Abidin Religious College ( KUSZA).

With the new accorded status, the Faculty of Languages and Communication focuses on the development of languages, literature and communication through teaching, research, consultation and advancement continuously in accordance with the national and global requirements in a creative and innovative way.

The Faculty of Languages and Communication ( FBK ) is located at Block Umar in UniSZA, Campus Gong Badak. The three storey building houses the offices of administrative staff where the Dean, Deputy Deans, Head of the Studies Centres at the ground level. The lecturers' rooms and the resource room are located on the first floor and the second floor is where the lecture rooms, language laboratories and post-graduate student’s room are located.
